Background Stories

Just curious, does anyone else makeup fictional background stories for the people they see at the gym regularly just to pass the time while working out? Just to taking my mind off the pain of my sometimes intense workouts, I took to making up fake bios of the various people I saw regularly around the gym. Some day, maybe I'll use the character bios in stories. The few I've actually talked to, turned out to be completely different from the characters in my head. For instances, theres;

ex-military dude - ramrad straight, tall, handsome, seen a lot of action, both on and off the battlefield. He's a no-nonsense type who has no sympathy for slackers, whiners and 'lazy-*kitten* whiners.' In reality, turned out to be one of the nicest, politest, gayest guys I've ever met.

the Chinese spy - a middle aged Chinese woman who uses her sexual prowess to steal technological secrets from American business men. She just reminds me of this really scary political commissar woman I met while working briefly in the People's Republic of China back in the 90's.

the ex-hitman for Mexican drug cartel - he was the tough, merciless hitman for a drug cartel until they ordered a hit on his own family. Now hiding under the witness protection program.

the bodyguard - he's huge, muscled, with a knife scar along one cheek, he works out with a vengence, as if the weight machines had once done him wrong. Although paid for protecting VIPs his secret passion is the poetry of Pablo Naruda.

It's probably a bit weird but it's just something fun to do to while away my time on the treadmills, step machines, etc.
