I went into Kroger today. You know how in grocery stores they put all the cakes and deli stuff in the very front, so it's the very first thing you see when you walk in? Yeah. I walked past the deli and smelled the fried chicken and I almost went nuts! lol I LOVE fried food!
I walked past it and never thought about it twice. Took everything I had! Walked by the cakes and looked at them... didn't get any. BUT I did go into produce and get a little snack size veggie tray with baby carrots, apple slices, cheese blocks, and celery.
Then we went to WalMart (with a McDonald's inside!) It was sooo hard to resist...but I did!
This is like a billion things in one day, but I'm proud of myself for not giving in and eating all that bad food.
Plus, I lost another 2 ounces (lol!) when I got on the scale this morning :)

I hate walking into QFC/Kroger when they are making their chicken. It smells so tempting. Good job on the will power.

When I went into the store yesterday, I saw a fit woman at the fresh doughnut section. I thought to myself, she can eat those because she works hard, but for me NO. I do not even want to put that into my body. That is how I have to look at junk foods.

Same here! I have pretty much no self control when it comes to junk food. Put a bag of nacho cheese Doritos in front of me, and I'll eat the whole thing without realizing it.

Our local grocery store has the best fried chicken too. My excuse has always been that if I buy the chicken breast it can't be that bad for me...right? And besired for $1.99 a chicken breast it's economical too....oh boy I've had to rethink that one. Very difficult for me, but now that I'm losing weight...so worth it not to eat it!

I try not to go to the grocery store when I'm hungry. That's when I'm at my most vulnerable and my defenses are down. I do find myself reading labels alot more though, that is definitely a change for the better and is helping with my weight loss.

Awesome :) even though I'm vegan all those bakery items STILL look totally tempting to me, haha, I feel ya! Especially frosted Lofthouse cookies, oh man. But it's nice leaving the store feeling good about the healthy things you bought.
