Diet Coke Brownies?

I've heard you can make brownies with a box of brownie mix and a can (or half a can?) of diet coke.
Has anyone tried it? How did it turn out? Do you think it would work with another diet soda like Pepsi Max?
I'm bringing brownies to a cookout tomorrow and want to know if I can get away with using Pepsi Max (because we have it) in brownies to make it lower calorie and get away with it! lol
Thanks!

I usually take the duncen hines kind, and use egg beaters instead of an egg,and instead of the oil i use unsweetened applesauce,it even has the recipe on the box
The brownie mix
1/4 cup of egg beaters (=1 egg)
1/3 cup of the unsweetened applesauce
1 tbsp of water
you cant even tell the difference, tastes like reg brownies,i LOVE that recipe0 -
Not brownies, but have made chocolate cake with just a can of coke. Was good. And I do believe any kind of coke/Pepsi would have worked.0
