Venting about work LOL
Feel free to vent here about your work day LOL I need to.
I work as a barista at a college and I just has a super rude customer who ordered something she didn't even know what it was called and got annoyed at me for not reading her mind, then I asked if she wanted whipped cream she said no, then when I gave her the drink she was pissed cause it didn't have whipped cream, then also got mad when I told her the price LOL Then paid me in nickles! Lovely! I was nice and polite, so I get to vent here!
People are idiots sometimes! Feel free to vent!

Hello Laura Joy, I usually post on the Women 50+ thread here is a copy of my post for today.
":grumble: Sorry, here I go venting again.Today was a very stressful day from start to finish. Have you heard of "Corporate Restructuring, Eliminating Positions" Well that is what is going on at my place of employment. I found out today that tomorrow will be the last day of work for a young lady whom I am very fond of. She is the same age as my oldest daughter and I am going to miss her more than I can, and beleive me so will they when the realize exactly how much she does every day..
And to top it all off I had a "gentleman" verbally abuse me, accuse me of being a liar and then turn around and accuse me of saying things I didn't say. All because he was late for an appointment with our administrator and she got caught up in an emergency and was not able to meet with him when he finally arrived. Thank God there were other people in the next room, that he was unaware of, listening to what was going on. Finally someone came to my rescue and might I add just in the nick of time. I managed to keep my cool and be very pleasant to him, even when his demeanor became threatening. I was so upset I walked the river in record time and could have probably done a couple more laps if time had permitted." I don't think this guys "elevator went all the way to the top floor"
Have a great evening and thanks for letting me vent again.....Rosemary0 -
I work from home for the most part, so I have it coming... But I can't stand when my clients call me in the evening or weekends. My "office phone number" is actually my cell phone, so I can just turn the volume off, but I think, "man, why do they think I should be available 24/7?! Nothing is that urgent."0

Again I just think some people are idiots, and rude at that :frown:0

I've worked in restaurants for 14 years and man I could tell stories all day!
It also amazes me when people don't know what they're ordering. It's not uncommon for people to order the proscuitto pizza then get upset when "there's meat on the pizza! I thought proscuitto was cheese?!" :explode:0 -
This is hilarious!!
My work rant is EVERY DAY my boss stands at my desk eating her breakfast bar, smacking her lips and talking with food in her mouth! It is disgusting! My biggest pet peeve in life is ::hearing:: other people eating. Even like on TV shows or commercials. Or when I hear someone swallow their drink. eweeewwwwww!! :grumble:0 -
Everyone has highs and lows in everything, especially the workplace.
Not wanting to kill the thread or upset anyone, I would ask that we all have a little perspective on our work "problems".
I am currently in the process of shutting down our manufacturing facility, where we will leave over 1,000 people without a job, in an area where nobody is hiring for anything. I am one of the lucky ones that will relocate out of state with the company, but even that is costing my family untold stress, depression, heartach, and financial problems. I struggle every day to help my 150 employees with finding a new job, staying positive, and not letting the situation define thier character. While I am sure your jobs have low points, be very thankful to have it, treat it like a privelage to work there, and pray for those who can't find jobs.0 -
I agree...I love where I work! Venting about people who act like knuckleheads doesn't mean we don't like our jobs...at least, not in my case.0

I also love where I work, and am so thankful to have a job! I do understand where you are coming from. It is tough having to let employees go knowing that they will suffer financially and therefore mentally and possibly physically. We are like family in my office. I'm surprised I haven't told my boss to "close your mouth while you are chewing and don't talk with your mouth full!!" She's 43 and I'm 23.0

I agree... it's very healthy to blow off steam now and then. Doesn't mean you're not appreciative of your job- we don't have to love every minute and every bit of something to appreciate it. If venting is what it takes, then vent away!0

I love being a barista and in about 3 years hope to buy the coffee shop I work at, so i really do enjoy it, but I was just having an irritating moment due to someone's stupidity, which happens a lot in the service industry. I wasn't trying to sound ungrateful for my job, sorry if it came off that way. People need to vent sometimes and since I don't have anyone to vent to but my grandma that I take care of I figured it would help to vent on here. Sorry if I offended anyone.0

I haven't had a day off in two weeks. There is no foreseeable day off in my future because the nature of my work demands that I work every day. :frown: I'm on charge of growing all the cells for our lab and genotyping all the mice we use. I only have time for a 20 minute lunch break most days and otherwise I'm standing for 7 hours.
Oddly enough, I love my job. It's just tiring because it requires a TON of organization and planning every day, and everyone's experiments depend on me doing things properly.0 -

I can hear her eating her lunch in her office right now. :laugh:0 -

I understand where you are coming from. But some of us are tired of being floor mats for a bunch of egotistical, think they can talk to anyone, anyway they want to because they happen to work in the corporate office, and whos promotion has gone to their heads, jerks.
Now I'm done venting. :flowerforyou: Have a wonderful day:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:0
