I am a 56 year old female who until the past few years or so has had few problems maintaining her weight and an exercise regime. With the advent of menopause and some deeply stressful circumstances, I have gained 50 lbs. I joined another web site dedicated to exercise and weight loss, and one of the members recommended this one to me. I love it! I find it very user-friendly and motivating. I am also in Weight Watchers, but find counting calories to be more productive than counting points. Both methods are good, but this one is a little easier to maintain.
As far as exercise, I have few excuses other than depression for not working out. I have a lot of equipment in my house including a treadmill, NordicTrack ski machine, Bowflex weights and over 250 fitness dvds. I just bought a Wii Fit a few days ago but am not sure if I like it since you can't program exercises beforehand; after each and every exercise the user has to choose another, which for me I am finding disruptive to a workout.
More than anything else, I want to stick to this. Since the added weight feels terrible and has also severely cut into my self-esteem. I appreciate the opportunity to share my circumstances with you and look forward to learning about yours. Please, if anyone has motivational tips regarding diet or exercise, I hope you'll share them with me. I haven't done such a great job on my own.

Welcome to MFP!!!
Read this:
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/10665-newbies-please-read-me-2nd-edition
It explains a lot and opens your eyes (it did mine) :flowerforyou: and should help you start your journey.
I really like my Wii but I outgrew the Wii Fit because it took too much time between exercises. I'd rather us Wii Active or My Fitness Coach. Sounds like you have a lot of things to help you with diet and exercise (that is so great!) so now it's just that motivation you need. You have the tools...now use them
Good luck to you!!!0 -
Thank you Annaliza and MOMOFTWO29. I appreciate your responses and will be reading everything in itsentirety when I return from an appointment today. Seeing your tickers is also very motivating - evidently what you are doing is working well. Congratulations on your success!0
