Nothing makes me feel worse than...

....trying on jeans! I don't know why I even bother anymore, because clearly, there are none out there that will flatter my current body.

Anyone else hate jeans?

What other things should I avoid while I'm trying to stay positive about self image?

Getting rejected makes me feel the worst, but there isn't much I can do about that.

Other than that, feeling sluggish makes me feel like crap, and makes me want to eat and rest to see if I feel better, and it usually doesn't work. I need to stay active and eat nutritious foods, rather than high calorie foods if I want to keep my energy up and feeling good about myself.

    Swimsuits, hello. And shorts. :)

Jeans I'm ok with. It took a LONG time to find a good pair tho - Gap 1969 Perfect Boot. The only jeans I buy now.

    I absolutely hate jeans.

I avoid bra shopping for the same reason. Nothing is flattering and as I lose weight, they appear to be shrinking. There's just nothing confidence boosting about it. =\
  • I don´t like jeans, I like soft fabric.

I am OK with jeans, I get to wear my Daughters old ones, but the thing that gets me is bra shopping, I REALLY struggle, nobody carried my size and they make me feel like a freak....it's not nice. Hate it.

I haven't worn jeans in about a decade. I'm way WAY too self-conscious about my *kitten*. :(

For me, it's shirt shopping. I don't have a particularly large bust, but they don't generally fit my stomach area.

I second Gap jeans. Comfy, flattering and fairly durable considering the price.

I haaaate bra shopping, im so flat with a large ribcage... At Le Senza, I need a 34A for the smaller cup size, but a band extender for the ribs... 36A has a too big cup. Ive been flat out laughed out by sales ladies at least three times while asking for size help.

I find that I always go down a size in EVERYTHING else first before I do in Jeans. I am currently a (UK) size 12, apart from with my Jeans- they are still a size 14. Fine with normal trousers.... it's just jeans....

Even when I am at my ideal weight, I HATE buying jeans. I have a typical hourglass figure, and they just don't make jeans for a small waist and bigger hips/thighs/booty. I am so tired of not being able to get jeans that are my waist size, pulled up over my thighs and hips, and the other side of that coin -- having jeans that fit my hips, *kitten*, etc. but are WAY TOO BIG for my waist.

    UGGGGG!

My body is built for dresses, maybe a tip would be to find an article of clothing or style that really fits YOUR body type, and rock it :).

I can not wait to wear jeans again, but I refuse to buy any until I can wear a size 18 at least, so I got a ways to go. I hate shopping of anykind, always have. But you can bet when I finally get to where I want to be I'll enjoy buying those clothes.

OP, I don't know your size or shape, but if you are pear shaped like me, then I can suggest something: Levis 529s. They're made for a curvier shape (freaking all pants gap at the waist on me). Finding them can be difficult, but worth it. I've had luck with Kohl's and JCPenney.

    Hope that's helpful. Good luck!

    Thanks for the tip.

I do have a pair of Levis and I think they might be 529's but I'd have to look. I think my problem is that they're all low rise, and so they fit, but don't flatter. Ya know? I honestly think until I have a flatter shape, I'm just not going to be happy with how I look in jeans...haha.

I'll have a look at the ones I've got though because hey, they may not be what you're talking about and there may still be hope!

I probably need to do this. I've never really been a dresses kind of girl, but maybe I should re-think that. My legs look great in heels anyway.....haha.

Jeans are one of the few things I feel comfortable (and dare I say... sexy) in. I think you just need to find the brand and cut that fits you right. I like Levi's Signature, mid rise, boot cut. If you get a mid rise, the tiny waist big/hips thing is less of an issue.

This!!! I bought a swimsuit and shorts this weekend, both are now back at the store.
