Too much exercise?

So I have a question whether I might be working out too much, or if I'm not giving my muscles enough rest.

I've been working with a personal trainer 2 days a week for the past few months, and last week I just signed up for bootcamp that I will be doing 2 days a week as well. So I will be doing bootcamp Mondays and Wednesdays and Personal Training Tuesdays and Thursdays. I just do light cardio on Fridays, and try to make it to Zumba Saturdays. Sundays are my rest days.

Is this too much? I have a little muscle soreness, but nothing unbearable. I do a warm up on the elliptical for a half hour before bootcamp and training and lots of stretches after.

I also drink a protein smoothie after each workout.

Any advice is welcome.

Doesn't sound like too much to me. I work out 6 days a week with 1 rest day as well.

I think your workouts are perfect and i reckon you should keep it up. If you feel any pain then take a day or two off depending on the injury. If you shorten your workouts you may slow down your results but i believe personally your on the road to perfection ;)

Thanks for the advice. I'm hoping to reach my goal by Christmas. That gives me 6 months to lose 60 pounds.

I workout 6 days too. If I find that the intensity of my workouts starts to decrease or I am extra tited I will take another rest day. Then about once every three month, on my trainer's recommendation, I take a week off from it all.
