Low carb + ketosis

Just a few questions -
Once you have used all your glycogen stores then the body should turn to fat right? But wouldn't it use the fat you eat first? So should I be low fat as well as low carb so that I will use my stores of fat?
I have heard that low carb and low fat is not good and that caarbs should be replaced with fat, this is why when I did it before I didn't lose any weight, because my body was running on the fat I consumed and not my stores.
Also I was showing purple on my ketone sticks and was told that I should aim for the lighter pink for effective fat burning, why is this?

I`m reading Ketogenic Diet by Lyle Macdonald, even though I can´t answer your question yet (just started the book) it explains really good all the ketosis process and I highly recommend it. Sorry I can´t really answer your question though!0

But you are still going to be (or should be) in a calorie deficit.....so your body is still using more energy that you are providing it with, therefore it will have to use fat stores for energy.
Do not try to go low carb and low fat.0
