Okay so I made it to the 50lb mark and boom, all the sudden my motivation is gone, has anyone else experienced this? I only worked out for half the time I usually do yesterday and none today. What can I do to get back the feeling when I lost the first 20lbs? I still have a long ways to go and don't want to mess up the work I've already done. Its frustrating.....

have you considered joining a group or a challenge and checking in with them every day. It helps me to have a group of friends on MFP who look forward to hearing about my ups and downs every day.
Take it one day at a time. don't think that today's slump is forever. :bigsmile:0 -
Slump seems to be my middle name right now. You gotta tell yourself that quitting isn't an option. Force yourself to exercise, and try to have at least a small calorie deficit at the end of the day.0

I have a hard time losing weight. You've got to watch what your eating calorie-wise. I often will not go over my limit but I am not making the best choices...I tend to cheat and need to stop it! Inches are good to lose so be proud of what you are doing!!0

Here's a couple of things I do...
1. Change my routine. If I kept doing elliptical->treadmill everyday, I'd become bored. So I'll alternate every other week while also doing something extra, like cycling or racquetball.
2. In those routines alternate the settings. As an example, on the elliptical I might do the fat-loss one week, manual the next.
3. If you listen to music while working out...is it the same songs? If so, shuffle some new songs in.
4. Normally I work out 60-90 minutes a day. But on those days I don't really feel up to it, I tell myself
I'm only going to do 30 minutes. Then when those 30 minutes are up, I tell myself, hey, I can do
another 15 minutes. Before I know it, I've reached at least my 60 minutes. In other words, I keep
challenging myself that my mind is stronger than my body.
Someone also mentioned about going to McDonalds and giving up. If you do, don't use the word
'cheat'. If I do go to McDonalds I tell myself, hey, I might put on an extra pound or two, but I've already
lost 10 pounds, so I'm 8 pounds ahead.
