I've been frequently the same beaches since I was 16 and need to freshen things up a touch. Can anyone recommend any beaches in Jersey aside from OC and Wildwood?

I usually go to Pt. Pleasant, Exit 98 off the parkway. There is a boardwalk with plenty to eat and rides for kids if needed.

    Long Branch is also nice.

Believe it or not Atlantic city, the beaches there are free you see lots of locals and their are life guards.. You can park at a casino lot which will onyl be like a block or two away (I think Caesars lot, walk the other direction and you are out the outlet mall), and if you join their "members club" type thing which is free the parking is discounted to usually $5. Of course their are other diversions.

Long branch is a nice relaxing beach and they deliver lunch to the beach lol

Now....party beach, belmar and go to A bar, or Seaside and well....anywhere there. But there's a cool bar to one end that is right on the beach and u can sit on the beach and drink. Hear that Point Pleasant just has jenkins burn down, so that's a no go. Also LBI is pretty "party" style

depends on what type of atmosphere you are looking for... sea isle is a huge party place w lots of fun bars, cape may is laid back with shops and is a beautiful town with a very nice beach but very quiet, margate is a nice place to go to the beach for a day (and I think Lucy the Elephant is there too hehe) and Margate has $4 transportation to Atlantic City, Atlantic City has casinos and was the 1st boardwalk in the world and has some fun places like Ripley's for the kids, but don't go on the beach there (or wander too late at night!) There are tons of beaches in South Jersey and all have a different feel to them so depends on what you are looking to do.
Just re-read your post... Sea Isle is a great happening party area... and i like the actual beach too there.

Agreed with Pt. Pleasant, it's awesome! Or, if you are more into just a beach (no stores, arcades, etc...) you can always go to Bradley Beach.

I would probably skip Pt. Pleasant, from what I have been reading, they are trying to get back to the family atmosphere. Although from what I remember (and unfortunately it has been awhile), you can bring drinks on the beach from Tiki Bar or Jenk's.

I was only there for a short time last weekend, but the beach in AC wasn't too bad and there is a lot to do around it. There is a beach bar but not sure you can bring drinks actually on to the beach.

So is there any one beach area that truly outshines the rest in terms of all out fun? I've been to AC, OC, and wildwood..They were all fun...but can they be topped?

They can all be topped, seriously when I went to wildwood it was nice...but nooooo night life. Try seaside (sawmill at the end of the boardwalk as realllly good food, good music), belmar, or LBI

There was an arson fire last year contained only to a tiki hut but Jenks didn't burn down.

How odd~ I can't find anything about it. My boyfriend is from PPB so I figure his phone would be ringing off the hook for something like that. But as far as I know, there wasn't a fire this year. The biggest news they've had was the craziness with bar closing times! lol

Really? Sorry but where was I being snippy? I just stated that I found it odd that I hadn't heard or read about it. Thing's get too easily misinterpreted on the internet...but yea, have a nice day.

Dude...like you I grew up on the Jersey beaches. But for some reason, the tides have turned and are not the same. Wildwood, Seaside, LBI...just not what they used to be. Atlantic City is starting to clean up the beaches by allowing the casinos to work their beachfront space. I simply don't know why people would take kids to AC anyway.

We have been hitting Ocean City, MD for the past few years. I know there are some good places in Jersey still, but the lure of OCMD keeps me going back.

I've spent too much time on the DE/MD front. In fact I just got back form OCMD...yesterday, lol.

TBH, I've got some odd attraction/connection to Jersey girls. I need to frequent that scene more often..gain some exposure.

Strathmere is awesome... Cape May has some beautiful beaches... if it's Jersey girls you want, Avalon.

I'm strictly South Jersey, if you couldn't tell :)
