hey there, im new to all this and I need some good advice

hi everyone :) I've been checking out everybody messages and im in the same boat. I would love some friends and motivation to keep me on track.

also, if anyone has any great tips on exercising abs and core for me that would be great. I usually go to the gym by myself so tips on how to do that solo would be greatly appreciated.

  • welcome! first and fore most Im not an expert but I have lost a lot of weight with a combo of diet and exercise, thats key. to do both. obviously if you joined this site then you're prob gonna count calories. everyones daily calorie intake is different, depends on also what you are looking for, weight loss? maintenance? muscle build etc...you're already on the right track by going to the gym, now you just have to find the right diet (and diet doesnt mean some hardcore, unrealistic, starvation regiment) but something that fits you, and the goal you want to reach. some people including myself keep it simple and do a 1200-1500 calorie a day diet, with exercise everyday, maybe on3 rest day...whatever suits you. good luck and welcome again :)

    Thanks for the tips. This site is really helping me count my calories and stay on track. Of course my diet isn't going to be straightforward and perfect, but just realizing what I eat and the amount of stuff entering my body is a wake up call. Thanks again for all of your support :) Congrats on all the pounds your shedding and good luck on your further endeavors!
