I just signed up to start the curves system and was wondering if anyone else uses it and if they have gotten results. It looks promising I spoke with a woman today who dropped over 200 pounds on the system. The only thing that has me concerned is in the fitness and weight managment plan book it says the first week you only eat 1200 calories then you go to 1500 calories for 3 weeks on mfp it says I should be eating 1590 a day before my workout calories. Can this be right? Any info would be appreciated.::huh: :

 I joined Curves at the end of March of this year. I have done VERY well  I have not done their weight management class because I seem to be losing OK. I know several people who have done it and are doing well. You just have to be prepared to sometimes gain 1-3 pounds, then losing it again the following week. It is supposed to be a more permanent way to lose the weight. I may try it later on.

Welcome to Curves and MFP, and Good Luck on meeting all your goals:flowerforyou:

I do curves as well. I've been a member for 13 months now. About Feb this year I started to track my calories and work-outs and wasn't losing. Got frustrated.

One of the curves trainer is also a dietican. On Tuesday she looked at my diet and my workouts and told me I wasn't eating enough. She was aghast that I had days of 950 calories consumer and 500+ calories burned. Suggestion - eat more don't go below 1200 calories and each day have 100grams of protein. I've done this since Tuesday and lost 3.8 lbs by Friday morning.

I read the curves book Labor day weekend and came up with XXnumber of calories on days I do no workouts, XXnumber of calories on days I do a moderate workout (200-300 calories) and XXnumber of calories on days I have a heavy workout (700+calories). The heavy workout days are when I do a 20 minute walk lunch time, 20 minute walk during day (this is 4 walks of 5 minutes each), 2 mile run at end of work day plus do a 500+ curves workout.

So basically, I"m adjusting my calorie intake based on calories burn.
Ask the Curves staff for their ideas.
