Metaboic Weight Training

I'm am currently doing heavy lifting in a 3x5 format, 2 to 3 times a week and some cardio, either running or bike a couple of time a week. In reading one of Lyle McDonald's articles, Weight Training for Fat Loss 1 & 2 he suggests mixing in Metabolic Weight Training as an alternative to cardio for rapid fat burning. Anyone have any good routine recommendations? Or sites or books that may have some? Or are doing this now and are willing to share thier routine?

My base strength workout is squats, overhead, barbell rows, bench and deadlifts. I do them in 3s. Eg. a. workout=squats, overhead & deads. b. workout=squats, bench & rows. I would want to avoid exercises that would create recovery issues that would interfere with the heavy lifting as that is my priority.
