6 weeks, 2kgs. HELP!

Hi forums!

I'm wondering what's up with not shedding much over the course of 6 weeks.

I'm walking loads and getting my pulse up (we're talking more than I've walked over the past 3-4 years), staying within the calorie goals (sometimes 200 or so under, not counting the "gained cals" from exercise), and generally eating healthier than before.

I've got quite a long way to go and this is not motivating me at all. I'm generally not a complainer, but... :\

Perhaps I'm better off going on the LCHF diet, since I managed to lose 40lbs with it before, though this time sticking with it and not stopping when the going gets tough. Still... I don't understand why the loss has been so low when on a regular, healthy diet where I just watch what I eat and how much I eat + exercise...

Constructive and encouraging tips are more than welcome!!! :)

A week of weight lifting could shock your body. Also 70-80% of weight loss is nutrition. Just make sure you are getting enough calories. Sometimes being under is not good, especially if you are exercising. You could try like some people do and change calorie intake from high one day to lower the next to get your body working again.

    Hi there:

I can truely understand where you are coming from as I, myself, am experiencing the same thing. I find it difficult to know how hard I am working at watching what I eat and the amount and walk walk walk and exercise regularly only to see that the pounds are coming off slowly. It is very frustrating. At one point I even gained back 2 pounds. It brought me to tears because I know I have worked hard at losing weight so to see a gain I was getting down on myself. I spoke with a friend and a nutritionist with public health office. They said to take measurements of chest, hips, and waist because sometimes there will be no weight loss or even a small gain. Our weight can fluctuate by 1-5 pounds daily. Also if you are working out then you are building muscle as well and that weighs more than fat, not much more, but still more. I was also told that I didn't gain this weight over night and it isn't going to come off over night. The longer it takes to come off the more apt it is to stay off and you may lose inches and the scale may not change. It is more important to lose the inches than it is the pounds; however over time, as long as you are doing everything right (eating, exercise) then the weight will eventually come off. Be patient with yourself and give yourself a break the weight didn't go on over night so it will not come off over night either. Stay strong and stay with it. I wish you all the best.

    Thanks all!

I'm going to have to try eating the exercise cals and see where that leads me! Hopefully that will help kickstart everything.

I would also try changing up what sort of exercise you do. I started off with the 30 Day Shred, and that along with two longer trips to the gym gave me 3 pounds off in six days. I just started changing my diet though, so that will of course also have an impact on the results.

Even if that is not an option right now, trying doing different things, making sure you get some strength in there as well as some cardio.
