STAY OUT OF OUR WAY!!!

So I got up this morning in rotten pain. I'm battling another flare up of psoriatic arthritis which these days is zeroing in on my shoulders, hands and left foot.
Not good for a woman who types for a living, who runs for exercise.
But I popped three Advil when I got up and the pain began to lessen as I muddled through my typing, and when I was done, the pain in my foot was bearable.
So I thought it might be a good time to run, since the pain was better, but looked outside and it was a beautiful, sunny day. "I can't run in the sun," I told myself. As I've opined on these boards before, running in the sun wilts me like a flower-- I always tell myself, "I can't," or "I don't want to" run when the sun was shining.
But, with the arthritis being what it is, there's no telling when the pain will flare back up, or when I will have another opportunity with nine kids to run if/when the pain is bearable again.
So off I went-- on a total beast of a run. I tackled a new route that I'd found recently, and ran it better than last time. The sun was beating down on me-- 75 degrees out, and sunny, just before noon. And it was glorious.
So, here's my point, my friends-- the only thing that comes between us and the goals we're trying to achieve is us. The many times we say, "I can't," or "I don't want to," or "I know I should but," or "I know I shouldn't, but" --
We can. We should want to. And if we don't want to, we need to do it anyway--
So, my friends, let's stay out of our own way today and kick some booty today--
We all have greatness in us, let's let it out-- get out of our way, and let it out.
God bless us all this day!!

What a great message and how true that really is! I always say the only thing/person that can prevent me from moving forward in life is myself, and as long as I stay out of my own way I'll be just fine . However, I think I needed to be reminded of that because I just began running, and I run as far as I possibly can (which usually isn't very far) but I am building up my endurance... and THIS morning I heard myself telling myself "I just don't have it in me to run today." So I walked two miles. But after reading your post it definately inspired me to keep pushing myself, it reminded me of what I believe in already, thank you. Have a blessed day!0
