Resting calorie burn

Hi there, I just have a quick question about resting calorie burn. I use a Polar F4 HRM and have not been subtracting anything from my calorie burn when I enter it into MFP. So for example today I burned (all exercises together) 650 calories working out for almost 2 hours. My resting calorie burn is 1.25 cal/minute. So then for every hour of exercise I should be subtracting 75 of my calories? Today then I should only have 500 exercise calories to use...right? BUT here's the other thing-I am not trying to lose any more weight but I have my MFP settings on "lose 1/2lb per week". That gives me 1460 calories to use without exercise cals. If I changed the setting it ups my calories to some 1700. Should I just leave the setting, eat most of my exercise calories that my HRM says and not worry because my net calories are already lower than they should be? ...sorry so long:ohwell: ..it's so confusing!

I think if you are not trying to lose weight anymore you should switch to maintaining and that will giveyou more calories but keep the same exercise plan! As for the resting calories, I stop my HRM after a workout when my HR goes below my fat burning zone! So sometimes it is 10 minutes after a workout and then I stop it and use whenever calories are there! But if I am below that mark I turn it off and then will just turn it back on when I start to workout again! Hope that helps!

I was actually just thinking the same thing. I don't usually subtract out my resting calorie burn. I was thinking I probably should start (never really thought about it before) but not sure exactly how it works. I haven't been doing it all this time and so far, so good. I figure it all comes out in the wash- I'm sure some of the food that's entered (I measure everything possible) is off by 10 or 20 calories one way or another here and there.

I'm interested to see what others say...

I haven't been subtracting my resting calories, never thought about it either! But saw in another post and thought-uh oh! So I really just need to figure out if that is right-?? I measure just about everything I can as well, but I am sure I'm still off a little- and that's ok! I am always leaving some cals/carbs, etc at the end of the night as lee-way anyways, but I want to make sure I am doing ok!
