I'm a little confused.. I've read a lot about a TDEE and BMR. My BMR is 1565. MFP has me at 1200 cals a day. Which am I supposed to go by to figure out how many calories I can have a day? Thank you!

MFP doesn't take your BMR into account when it gives you your goals for the day. You will find different opinions on the board, but I believe you shouldn't go below your BMR, at least not for long periods of time. It may make your weight loss go slower, but you probably will be able to stick with it easier, and not be as hungry.0
