Just some random venting

Ok, so I'm a college student. I go to a major university, and I've just started a diet that I want to be faithful to. I've had my diet troubles, and I want that to change. Since I moved back on campus, I've lost five pounds because I've been eating healthier and walking to my classes. However, it's still so discouraging to see the stick thin girls that I know are judging my every move...everytime I walk into the cafeteria, or everytime I go to work out. And then, today as I was walking to a volunteer job that I had, some girls yelled out the window (to me, as I was walking away), "cover up that cellulite!"
Although I know that girls are mean, it still hurt. I wanted to just vent to a community that is sharing the same discouraging problem as me.

Anyone who would yell out the window at a total stranger isn't someone whose opinion you need value. YOU know what you are doing. I used to feel that everyone was "judging" me when I was still young and even into my college years, but now that I have been around a bit longer, I realize, most people are pretty much into themselves.
If you do something obvious, like walk into a class with a giant slice of chocolate layer cake,:noway: you would probably get noticed--by everyone who wished they had one too!!
Seriously, one of the steps to healthier eating and a healthier self image is to not let the opinions of uninformed/ignorant twits who holler stupid things out of windows get to you!
Good luck with your classes and your healthier eating goals. You CAN do this!!!0 -

I know it stings when stuff like that happens, but really, idiots like that don't even deserve a second thought. They're just petty, immature little people who may or may not some day grow up. Keep up the good work, and before you know it, you'll be hotter than any little stick figure.0

First off let me say F them!!! People like that are pieces of crap.. (Sorry for the language) but they have no life or no self esteem them selfs so they go after other people to make them look better... Ever watch that movie Mean Girls ? I swear most girls are like that.. Making fun of someone is low and that just shows how immature people are no matter what age we are.. Don't let some loser stop you from getting to your goal weight.. Think positive!!! If you ever need to vent that's why we are all here is to give you the motivation you need and not to put you down..0

It's almost impossible not to let the judgements of others affect you, especially when you're still in school. It's funny how "peer pressure" doesn't have the same power once you gain a few years and little self-esteem under your belt. Anyway, someone who would stoop so low as to yell something out the window at you is just trying to make themselves "feel better" by finding more fault in someone else. The judgement or criticism is almost always done in front of others purposley, because the person slewing the arrows is really just looking for approval from their peer group by pointing out to them that there is someone who is worse off (in their opinion) than they are. The outcome is that they feel better or more worthy, more acceptable. Best of luck - having people make fun of you is a hard thing to just ignore. Try to notice where or what situation causes these things to happen and avoid them.0

Sorry honey! I don't care who you are, that would have hurt their feelings. Pretty girls that behave ugly are not pretty.0

I am also on a college campus...and something close to that happened to me as well...but I got to get back at the people who did it to me...I had a group of girls send me a box of cupcakes that said "just give in fat *kitten*" on the top....well I threw them away of course..but a couple of weeks later the sames girls that sent them to me were in the coffee where I work...each one of them ordered a piece of chocolate cake...you know the kind that kills three days of your diet...anyway when I delievered the cake to the table the main girl looked up at me and said, "don't you want a piece of this? I know your just dying to have a piece!" all the other girls laughed...so I said, "No I'll let you eat it and let all the fat calories go to your *kitten* and when I look good in my bathing suit next year and you have a saggy belly we will all know why" needless to say none of them have said anything to me since!:bigsmile:0
