Hey pals, I need some suggestions. I'm getting a little tired of going to the gym for my workout, I really want to do NROLFW but it had been taking me about 1-2 hours after fitting in a little cardio too and I don't have time for that right now (I plan on starting it when next semester starts or after I graduate). I was thinking about doing a video but I don't like doing lunges and all that crap in front of a tv so I was wondering what people would recommend that's fun or dancing and something that's not just doing repetitive things I could do on my own. I've tried p90x when my hubby had it and wasn't a fan lol I'm not sure what the Jillian Michaels dvd's are like or the new Zumba? (I can't find the old zumba anywhere) any suggestions? I would also like to see some results if you recommend something
thanks
thanks

I prefer classes, my favorite is Spinning.
If you can't try that, I do like that Biggest Loser Boot Camp video (the Bob portion especially!). I find it really fun and I like Bob.0 -
Whats spinning?
And I'll look around for those!0 -
Spinning - stationary bikes. Spinning is a "brand" of the classes but there are probably other types of biking classes out there too.0

Oh ok cool, I've heard of it but never knew what it was! Thanks!
And are the biggest loser videos somewhat fun or are the crunches and stuff?0 -
I love zumba on the wii (I haven't been to a class yet). But my absolute fav cardio exercise is boxing! :bigsmile:0

Nothing beats swimming. Good intense swimming session equals lots of other repetitive exercises.0

The NROLFW is taking you 1-2 hours? In what way are you doing it? I'm in and out of the gym, all showered and changed in less than an hour with a little cardio in there as well, though cardio isn't exactly necessary on the lifting days (I do it anyway, it makes me feel relaxed). If I skipped cardio I could be all done and showered in 45mins. Are there queues for equipment?0

thanks everyone!
and it was taking me that long because I was just starting and wasn't sure how to do all the exercises so I kept having to look at the book, then I would record all the info and I would rather wait to do that because I wanna do it right. But until then I want to do one of the other things I've been hearing about to try something new.
Swimming sounds like a good idea as well!!
I've heard kickboxing is sweet as well.
I've never been to any classes so maybe i should try to!0 -
I LOVE going to classes, they keep me going and working hard.
I do Body Pump, Body Step and Spinning. I go 3-4 times a week... the instructors get to know you and it's almost disappointing on the days I can't go.
Although getting the Insanity DVD's tonight so going to switch to that for a bit now0 -
thanks everyone!

Ah, I was worried about that too, I ended up looking up videos of each exercise online and memorising them! :laugh:0 -
I agree about Spinning! I've been going once a week for about two months now, and I actually get bummed if I can't make it. I was going to a class called Spin Zone where the instructor selected the tracks and made up the movements. My gym switched that class (as of last night) to an RPM class, which was equally challenging. It's a great way to burn a lot of calories in a short amount of time. My burn ranges from 400-600 for a 45 minute class, depending on the tracks and how hard I work. I like Spin/RPM because it's set up to be interval training where you have periods of high intensity and then some time to recover. I also take Zumba classes once in a while, and I've found that my heart rate stays really high (sometimes even out of my target zone) for the entire class. But I love that class, too. When I've had a crappy day at work and feel like being left alone, I go to Spin and take my aggression out on the bike. When I've had a good day and feel like partying, it's Zumba. :happy:0

That's awesome! thanks for sharing
I didn't realize spinning could burn that many calories, whenever my husband or I would ride stationary bike it never burned as many cals as the elliptical so I never tried it, but if it's not just sitting there, I can see how it does!
I bought Just Dance with Julianna Hough tonight so hopefully that'll be fun and burn some cals!
If anyone has had results with this I'd love to see it!!0
