Saggy Skin?

I've developed a fear of saggy skin thanks to an offhand comment about dieting from a friend!
I'm 28 (had two kids if that makes a difference), 5'4" and want to lose about 50 lbs. Is saggy skin something I should be worrying about? Are there ways to combat it?

Whyyyyyyyyy do people worry about this so much? It's not that horrible. I'd rather be saggy and healthy...than fat and miserable.

Why? Because I don't want flabby arms. Obviously I'd prefer to weigh less and eat healthy or I wouldn't be here. But I didn't realize those were my only two options.
  • Saggy skin only occurs if you lose your weight too fast. Too fast obviously depends on your age because with age your skin loses elasticity. However, saggy skin will occur when you are on a crash diet and try to lose more than 2 lbs a week over an extended period of time (ditch the celebrity diets, they have the money for nip/tuck people, we don't!). Just keep on eating healthily and work out and you'll be grand. Flabby upper arms btw can be remedied by working your arms. I'm a swimmer, I'm in my late 30s, I have no such thing as flabby arms. My arms are nice and tight and defined and I have yo-yoed all my life.
A healthy mix between cardiovascular workout (to burn the nasty calories) and strength training (to build the muscle for the fat burning) will make you anything but flabby. But do try to keep your body fat at a healthy level or you may start looking gaunt once you've crossed the magic 35 and the wrinkles start creeping in.

Ok thanks! I'm only aiming for 1-2lbs a week and am drinking lots of water to try to encourage elasticity.

And I'm not worried as in I won't stop trying to be healthy because of it, but if it's avoidable I'd rather avoid it!

    ^^this!
  • The skin stretches... this is fact..... However.... You can combat it with strength and toning exercises.. ... Even with that you may still have some out stretched skin.... what you can do is work on it.... What you should do is stay away from negative people
