Freezing food?

Can whole wheat wraps be frozen, and then defrosted at a late date? What about fresh spinach? I use them both regularly, but stocked up on wraps this week as they were on sale and it will take me a few weeks to use them. I have a TON of fresh spinach and same thing- won't use it all before it goes bad. I'd like to freeze them both... is that ok? I'm clueless when it comes to freezing stuff!

I think you have to blanche the spinach before freezing. What's in the wraps? I have frozen homemade burritos successfully. Hopefully someone will have some better input for you.

ya know.. I'm not really sure, but I had a friend that used to buy big bags of spinach and freeze them.. she used it regularly though.. I make homemade waffles and freeze them for a quick and easy b-fast for my daughter, and It works out really good! Honestly, I don't think it would hurt the wraps.. I freeze bread and know plenty of people that do it too, and we're all still around to talk about it. lol Check it out and keep us posted! :glasses:
  • My mom ( a cook) says that freezing spinach freezes the water in the leaves, and if you're going to cook the spinach that's fine. If you're like me and like to eat spinach raw and crispy on sandwiches, subs, etc, it wouldn't work since thawing it would make it mushy.

Freezing bread is definitely a good way to keep it fresh longer. We do it here all the time.

I would blanch spinach, chop it, and freeze it in the amounts I want to use. The easier it is to just grab a bag out of the freezer the more likely I will use it.
