Difficulty with calorie intake vs other stats goals

Hi,

I've just started using MFP this week. Yesterday I was told that I'd eaten too few calories, and planning my meals today I have found that I will be today, because I am trying also to balance the amount of protein and fat within my goal range and go over these quite easily but not with the calories, if that makes sense. I refuse to just use up my calories on sugary carbs to make sure my calorie/carb intake is higher.

How seriously should I be trying to keep the protein and fat section down if they are mostly good proteins and fats, and if it is keeping my calorie total well below my goal minimum?

Did anyone else have this problem to start with, and how did you resolve it?

Thanks!

It takes a little time to get them close. I have been doing this for almost 2 years and never got them all to 0 without going over or under in something.
I found if I log before I eat I can make changes to get them as close as I can.

If you're still losing weight this way, it's good enough for me! Thanks.

I used the "Custom goals" option to tune the targets closer to my needs. Typically you want more protein than the default.
