Struggling with staying on track on non-work days

I've noticed that on days I work, I do really well overall. My eating pattern is pretty regular and don't struggle too much with going over my calories allotted. The bigger challenge is the days I don't work. I think this is due to two things, one I generally sleep in a bit (why get up at 5 if I don't have to), and two, I'm often on the go and away from anyplace I can prepare decent food. Instead, I often end up trying to eat decently within my plan when eating out. It rarely works well. I should also point out that I often have two kids in tow on these days so I have to take their needs into consideration as well.
This has given me a new found respect for all you SAHMs out there that are trying to diet. Even for those that do work outside the home, we don't work every day, so I'm curious to know if others struggle with this, and if so, what do you do to stay on track on the non-work days?

Yes.
I'm a boredom eater, and when I stay at home either for the weekends or holidays? Disaster is imminent. When I start getting urges to eat, I either leave the house or do housework.0 -

Me too. That's one of the reasons I've been trying to get out of the house more, but that leads to a whole set of other problems when we're away from the house and I (or the kids), need to eat.0 -
Same here. I pack my snacks (and sometimes lunch), and eat the same breakfast when I go to the office. As long as I keep dinner roughly on target, I'm golden.
On weekends or holidays? Meh. I snack too much or too little, and who knows what's going on with the meals. Since the baby was born, I haven't even bothered trying to log my meals very much, since I'm not preparing most of them and have no idea what the nutritional content is anyway. I still hit the gym 3 days per week, and am still seeing progress. I suppose I'm doing alright with winging it for the time being, until I can settle into a new routine as a daddy.0 -

Yea, me too on the work days. It's easy to control the food while at work, because I pack everything before I leave. Lunch, snacks, etc. If I didn't pack it, I don't eat it for the most part. It's the weekends and occasional days off that are hard.0 -
You are not alone I also struggle with this. I think its because on work days we have a routine and can plan our meals, not quite as easy on the off days.0
