Appetite suppressant - Pine Nuts?

I came across some information about pine nuts containing pinolenic acid, which acts as an appetite suppressant. Has anyone eaten pine nuts for that purpose, and if so, how much did you eat and what was the effect?

I would think eating pine nuts to lose weight kind of counter-intuitive. They are extremely calorie dense.

Caffeine and choice are pretty effective appetite suppresents.

Right, they are calorie dense. However, the pinolenic acid is supposed to trigger some appetite-suppressing hormones. I haven't been able to find any information on how many you have to eat to get the effect, though. If it's just a few, then the calories wouldn't amount to much. If it's 1/2 cup, then, yeah, not much benefit unless you burn a lot of your calories through exercise (in which case it might help you not eat them back).

I put pine nuts in my pesto and all my pesto does is make me want more of my pesto.

Salt helps too, plus it's zero calories...pretty much any spices and herbs work. A serving or two of alcohol also suppresses appetite long term...some of the benefits of alcohol (in the correct quantities of course) are quite interesting and can be used to one's advantage.

So does anyone else have experience with pine nuts acting as an appetite suppressant?
