I think I am my own worse enemy.

I don;t know how to properly explain this, but if anyone has any adivce, or even just a comment Id love to hear! Or even if you happen to be the same way!

I find extreme skin & bone beautiful.
I don't like the look of muscle (on females) (males a bit of muscle)
I find myself constantly thinking that I am willing to do anything to achieve skin and bone, including not eat.
I do not have an eating disorder though.
I don't starve myself, and I don't over eat all the time either.

But I don't know how to always remember getting from 285 lhs - to Under 170 lbs will take time.

None of this probably made sense but I had to get it out.

First of all, I KNOW IT'S UNHEALTHY AND I'M NOT PRO-ANA, but I feel exactly the same way. I mean, I don't like deathly skinny but very slim women are the most beautiful to me. I don't want apparent muscle either, but I realise I have to 'tone up' to lose the baggage.

I want to be really tiny. I want men to be able to pick me up and throw me across the room if they wanted to. Um.. yeah..

We like what we like and if this is your idea of beautiful and healthy, no amount of different opinions will change your mind.

Do what you need to do. If you get sick from being too thin I guess you could see a doctor.
  • That;s I mean!
I know it;s not healthy, and I'm not pro-ana either.

But I find the very tiny girls, to be the most attractive.

setting your goal very far away like that can hinder your effort to lose weight. even a healthy slim girl like me trying to achieve skinnier for someone i like a lot is hard because its hard to do.

funeraldiner wanting to be really tiny as you say is liking the anorexic look.which is the underweight look.

rocketpopsickle, your young, if you do this now regardless of what your scale does or how your emotions plan to trip you up, remember in a year, your birthday or new years you will be a beautiful curvy lady?

I'm definitely no expert, but if you are willing to not eat that sounds like an issue for concern. No matter what your weight/body fat percentage goals are, your body needs healthy foods for fuel. As long as you aren't not eating, maybe these are just thoughts that are part of you being an individual, but if they lead to actions, I hope you will get help!

Aren't you kind of contradicting yourself?

Genetically if they are tiny/petite, yeah it's cute! But when we are talking about a normal size woman being underweight, I'm sorry that is not attractive ie. Posh Spice. To each his own I guess. :)

Hate to say this dear, but an ED has two components - psychological and action. Just because you're not acting on it, doesn't mean you haven't technically got the same problem. I'm not saying unequivocally this is the way it is with you, but keep a healthy open mind to the possibility of it.

Naturally thin women are beautiful. Their bodies are the exact shape and size they should be. Somebody who does not have that genetic blueprint, will have to work very hard to make themselves 'fit' what a naturally thin woman does effortlessly.

If you really want to make yourself fit a profile that isn't 'you', that is your prerogative. You will be depriving yourself of the opportunity to be the best you can be though, to appreciate yourself in the best shape of your life (whatever shape you are blueprinted to be) in your quest for a skewed 'good enough', which will never meet your expectations.

It's a bit like being a natural blonde... nothing a hairdresser can ever do will measure up but it may be good enough.

To my mind, trying to make yourself something you are not - and never will be - is a waste of time... but it is your time to waste if you so choose.

Nah, tiny as in petite. I don't like the 'anorexic' look at all.

High school and the media has been messing with your mind. Don't worry about your preferences now. Get yourself healthy -- maybe your self-image will improve as you make progress.

I hope that didn't sound too mean, but women are taught to hate their bodies so much by society, and nobody is ever satisfied.

Unfriend that mean girl in your head and love the body you have now, and own the fit body you are going to have.

This. So, definitely this. I've always loved the kinderwhore or ubergoth look- tall, willowy to the point of rail thin, with skinny little legs and arms.

Difference between you and me, I am recovering from an eating disorder- just my luck it's a cyclical disorder going from restricting to purging, with 'neutral' periods of binge eating disorder, which is why I need to lose instead of gain. I have always, ALWAYS wanted visible bones- hip bones, rib cage, collar bone etc. However, I've slowly managed to make myself think that I will never have that, so I will strive to look like the fitness models my brother works out with, and be the best that I can be. But I know I will always judge myself for not being bone thin.

Isn't this the truth! I tell my daughter about how her and her peers are so brainwashed by the media's perception of things and how they all need to free themselves to find out who they are and not who they are trying to be like. There is nothing more attractive than seeing a self confident, young person, who is able to embrace who and what they are by not allowing the UGLY media to define who and what they are, and will become...hope this makes sense. ;)
