I use simple body measurements - here for free:

This method give you good, consistent results you can use tracking progress.
Good Luck!
This was innacturate for me as well.0 -
Buy a scale that measures bodyfat %! They are not too expensive, you can get one that also measures %water, muscle (lean body weight) in pounds and bone mass. I bought mine a few years ago, the Tanita "Ironman" Inner Scan Body Composition Monitor.
I have this too and I'm not sure how accurate it is because my bf% does bounce around from day to day but it's usually within 1%and it gives me a good idea.0 -

Click on all calculators. Then click on the Military Body Fat calculator. It is accurate to + or - 2%.0 -
I recommend this site.
http://www.calculator.net/body-type-calculator.html?bustsize=90&bustsizeunit=centimeter&waistsize=70&waistsizeunit=centimeter&hipsize=90&hipsizeunit=centimeter&x=103&y=11
I would argue that it's pretty accurate. In comparison to the scale at my local gym there's only a 0.2% difference.
hmmm 18.3% ? I dunno. wish it involved caliper measurement . My caliper one measurement (Around the navel) is 24.5 %.
This site was very innacurate for me. I had in Inbody test at the gym and I have 27% body fat but this site says I have 37%!
I am not sure if they do Inbody tests where you are but this was a very good test for me x
This site was also grossly inaccurate for me. First at 36-28-36 (I'm only 5'3)I had a banana of straight shape, then it told me I had 19% body fat and I know with little doubt I am more at 27%0 -
I just did the military one and it had me at 21% which seems about right, but below it listed military requirements for bf% and for a woman my age to join the military I would only need to be at 32% or below! If I remember correctly over 30% is considered obese??
Maybe I'm thinking of BMI but 32% still seems high for an elite type of training.0 -

If you want to really know, go pay the money.
Who cares?
Any way to get a consistent result, go for it.
And if you like a certain body fat number to brag about, just lie to people. That works as well as the scale in addition to the man in the mirror.
If you are goal oriented and into just gauging results, this one works just fine - even if it tells you something you may not like hearing.0 -

Actually accuracy kind of matters a bit more than that though. I get what you're saying about getting a baseline and working from that and if you know you have a lot of body fat to lose your method would work great for a while, but if you're a ridiculously high or low number -- that would affect your routine, no? That calculator tells me my body fat is at 22%, which is very close to my goal of 21%, I know my body fat is closer to 27-28%. Same thing with calculators that give higher results -- if your body fat is actually lower, you end up working longer for a goal you've maybe already achieved.0 -

This is spot on for me
This is the site I use as well, it provides all kinds of beneficial measurements, not just body fat
I also advise using a Myo Tape, as I have found it so much easier to use with the anchor tab and circular retraction. It is accurate to a T as long as you position correctly.0 -
Here is the site I use. It has several methods you can try based on your own preferences, and pretty good video instructions on how to take each measurement. I've used it for years and it as proven accurate for me.
