Vibram foot numbness help?

Hey guys. I bought a pair of Vibrams almost exactly a month ago and have been wearing them casually and on 2-3 mile walks a few times a week. I have never run in them, but recently I have noticed a numbness on the outside edges of my big toes. The Komodosports have a rubber toe cap that seems to press into my toe if I wear them too long, and I was wondering if somehow I have damaged a nerve? I also feel pressure on the balls of my feet but that doesn't worry me as much. My toes have been numb for a little more than a week and I haven't worn them since it started.
Also, not sure if this is relevant, but I wear an old pair of running sneakers when I'm at my full-time job and do a lot of walking in them. If anyone has any insight to my situation I would really appreciate some comments or ideas. I'm not sure what I should do!
