New to My Fitness Pal

Hey all, I'm new to Fitness Pal, but very excited to get started. I'm hoping this provides the tool I need to keep track of all the crud I eat! LOL! I'm really hopeful about this site. I'm hoping to shrink down from my size 12 to a size 8 over the next 6 months. This is a goal of about 20 lbs to lose in this amount of time. This is a pound a week goal that I'm hoping I can finally do. I've been trying to lose weight for over 3 years now - since my daughter was born and I went from active working woman to sedentary stay at home mom. Here's hoping this is the piece of the puzzle I've been missing!

  • Thanks! So far I'm already in love with the site. It's very motivational and turns dieting into basic math. For instance, I realize if I want that snack that I'm simply not supposed to have I know if I do x amount of exercise that day then I'm fine to eat the snack. In this way I feel like I don't HAVE to give up the foods I love, I just have to remember to burn them off! And if I just don't feel like exercising that day, my compromise is to pass on the glass of wine after dinner or to just say no to the ice cream in the freezer! It'll be a few weeks before I can see the results, but so far I'm enjoying myself.
