if it burns calories it's worth it,
200 calories burned skipping is the same as 200 burned running, walking, swimming, rowing or whatever.
It's not as good as lifting weights though! :bigsmile:0 -
That is a good point - its still burned calories.0

You mean skip rope?
If you do, then it's one of the best workouts you can do. Many athletes find that no other activity gets their heart rate up higher, faster. 5 minute of it would kill most of us (I know it kills me!)0 -
Are we talking rope? Or to my Lou? If rope, it's one of the best cardio workouts available. Cheap, portable, and effective0

LOL
Yes Skipping Rope / Jump Rope! haha0 -
Depends, what are we skipping? Dinner? Bad. The temptation to post random senseless threads? Good. Down the hall? Good.0

All joking aside, cos I must be psychic to know what she was talking about in the exercise subforum, :P I try my hand at skipping and it does burn me out fairly quickly.
Thing is, when I get tired I catch the rope with my feet and have to start it again. But every time I do that, it bruises whatever the rope hits! I had loads of diagonal stripes on my forearms! Tiredness puts me out of sync and it happens then. Always sounds like other people can just skip endlessly but I'm not able to, not yet anyway.0
