Conference/Convention Center Food

I'm going to be attending a large convention next week for five days, and don't want to fall completely off the wagon and give in to a) unhealthy and b) overpriced concession stand food.
What sort of portable snacks/food would you recommend taking?
Nothing that has to stay cold, things that can easily be carried in a backpack, and nothing that creates too much trash, or any sort of byproduct that would become too ....icky over the course of a couple of hours. (Like an old banana peel.)
For at least one day of the convention, I'll be in a main meeting hall and/or standing in line for probably 10 hours. (Ack!) So sustainable/filling foods are ideal.
Granola and protein bars are on the list so far. Maybe some dried fruit. Thoughts?
