Hello! So I've been trying to lose weight for the past couple of months through eating in deficit, exercising, etc. but I haven't lost any weight. I can tell I'm gaining muscle and I have lost some fat, so I'm wondering if anyone else has experience with this? Will it just take longer for the scale to change, or do I need to do something else? My BMR is 1550 and I eat a range of 1500-1700 calories a day, exercise 5 times week (burn 500 calls each exercise day, and I don't eat them back). Any advice or insights?

I would try changing up your exercise routine or try some interval training if you haven't try those already. Just a suggestion hope that help.

If your calorie measuring is pretty right on, and you really are working out well, then yes, fat loss can feel like your body is firmer and even a bit trimmer, without loss of weight on the scale just yet. There are any number of people who have lost inches, especially in the beginning, before actual pounds come off. Of course, it also depends on just how much you have to lose too. Keep up the great work, and see where you are in a month or so. If things are still the same, tighten up your diet a bit, and include interval training, and be sure you're weight-training too. What you DON'T want to do is lose muscle. If you do that, you will end up lighter on the scale, and flabbier. Far better to weigh a few pounds more, but have your body have more muscle than fat.

Get a tape measure and count those inches! That's where it counts anyway! I would weigh 500 pounds if my body looked like a model's! ;)

Don't focus so much on the scale. Your body is different from day to day. Stay focused on building muscle and properly fueling your body. Use your clothes as a gauge. You could also do measurements every month.
