Ok folks... With the help of MFP, I lost 32 lbs! That 32 pounds put me at a healthy weight. I was so proud of myself. I looked and felt great. I felt so strong (inside and out). As of today, I have gained almost 20lbs back. I feel absoloutely horrible but I cant find the motivation to start working out and eating healthy. I need help!! I know I can do it, but my lack of motivation is killing me. How should I kick start this again? Any advice? I know it should be easy since I commited myself to this for a whole year but for some reason it is super hard for me to get back on the wagon. Has anyone been thruogh this? Im asking for support because you guys always have the best advice and support!! Thanks in advance.

Hey pink:
Thanks for letting people know how you are feeling and hopefully you will get some good advise here. I have been where you are with feelings of shame and disappointment in allowing myself to get out of shape. Due to a very serious car accidents 2 and 1/2 years ago, which led to neck surgery, I put on a tremendous amount of weight. I tipped the scales at roughly 260 lbs. Depression set in pretty bad and with that the motivation went out the window. Now I am on my way to back to where I was; however it has been a slow process.
How did I do it? As Jim Carey says in Liar Liar, "Can't you see I'm kicking my own *kitten*?" Well, that is what I have had to do. I faced the brutal honesty in that I am the reason I got out of shape. No matter how much I tried to make excuses or validate my weight gain, it was all on me. No one made me eat poorly. Other than the time period my neck surgeon told me I couldn't exercise, it was all on me. In order for me to get moving I HAD TO GET MOVING and that's what I did. It sure as hell didn't feel good at first; however I can't go a day without exercising. I'm not addicted to it, yet I know my body will feel lethargic if I don't. After a short while, my body required and demanded me to exercise.
I have also found great people here who have supported me and encouraged me. I am sure you will find many that will do the same for you.
As a former personal trainer, I have seen many many people in your same position. What did I tell them? In short I told them they needed to start moving, start slow (for most), make adjustments to your dietary intake, and start to reap the benefits of a healthy life style.
Pink, you can do what ever you put your mind to. You have done it before and you can do it again.
I believe in you.

Something that has really helped me anytime I feel like giving it all up is thinking that in 6 months from now, I'd wish I had started today. It kind of puts things into perspective for me and makes me not want to waste anymore time!
Maybe take on a short term goal like completing the 30 Day Shred (or anything similar) and just see where things go from there.0
