out of shape or injury?

Hello. I have about 80 pounds to lose. I did the eliptical one week ago and the top of my quad on one side still hurts slightly (was bad at first). I was really proud that I did 30 minutes. My hubby says that I will get used to it, and will hurt less as I get in better shape. Any thoughts?
