I believe there is no true definition of eating clean though I am sure many people here would claim to know the true answer.
For ME I believe eating clean is eating things that are not processed (fruits, veggies, nuts, grains, cuts of meat) and eating processed foods only if they are processed minimally and contain less amounts of man-made chemicals and additives.
What works for me is sticking to a percentage, eating about 80% clean/healthy and 20% not-so-healhy foods. It's difficult to eat clean all the time in the society we live in, though I am sure some people on here would love to disagree and fight me over it.
I do it in concern for my health, and wallet. Eating cleaner makes me feel stronger, makes my mind feel sharper, and in general helps me stay under my calorie goals. You can eat junk everyday and as long as you stay under your calorie allotments you will lose weight. It's a health choice.0 -

You mean cutting the processed rubbish, minimising sugar and eating food closer to it's natural state?
Yes it works for me, why wouldn't it?

Hey there lol. You know I'm no pro, but MY idea of clean eating is a simple question I ask myself. "Did it come from the ground/tree/plant/animal that way?" (cutting or chopping doesn't count. I just mean unprocessed and no additives) If the answer is "yes" then it is what I consider clean or whole. And yes I love it and it does work for me.0

I've just completed my first week of eating MOSTLY clean ...no sodas, snacks like twinkies or doritos, etc and I didn't have as much bloating, my mood was better, and I didn't have stomach aches like I would get with eating those other foods. I also lost 2lbs this week...not much but a tad higher than my MFP per week goal! :-)0

Some people mean the "diet" plan by tosca reno et al.

some people mean just eating clean. Eating real foods that are not processed, ARE foods, and are in their most natural state.
"Eat food, mostly plants, not too much" is probably pretty clean too. This is what my household tries for.
We have a somewhat strict definition of what constitutes "food".0 -
For me, clean eating means no chemical additives, minimal processing and organic. Whole foods. I think adopting any of these things is worth while regardless of whether or not it contributes to weight loss.0
