I hear ya. one cup of muscle weighs more than one cup of fat. which boils down to = "muscle weighs more than fat" People get hung up the idea the 5lbs of fat/ vs 5lbs of muscle. and thats not what "muscle weighs more than fat" says. If you lose a pound of fat but gain a pound of muscle then it looks like the scale didn't move, so body fat% and tape measurements come in handy.
As far as people being know it alls --- well we've all spent a lot of time trying to figure what works, so yeah, I think a lot of people out here are knowledgeable. And hearing what worked for one person is nice. It gives ideas.
I like the EM2WL people. It actually works for me. I lose weight eating more low-cal healthy food (think veggies, fruit, leafy greens, lean protein) compared to how little high-cal food I could have (think saucy pasta, decadent desserts, dougnuts, candy). If you only get X number of calories, spend it wisely. eat naturally lower cal stuff and EM2WL. Makes sense to me.
EDIT: For people being mean. There's a report post button for a reason.0
