I'm going to a festival in August and I need help coming up with ideas of snacks/meals to take with me which are good for dieting.
Last year I took a myriad of pot noodles, chocolate bars, crisps and other high cal/sodium snacks.
This year I'd like to be a bit more consciencious of what I munch on!
Any ideas?
I'm gonna take some prunes - nom!

you can take your favorite fruits and vegetables. I like celery and peanut butter (in the right portion of course). I also like to take salsa, tuna, boiled eggs, yogurt and granola. I don't know how long you will be going and if you are staying overnight. But I like to take everything in a small cooler to keep the perishables cool. I hope this helps.0

For the Isle of Wight Festival, I made up enough ham rolls for my lunches and then froze them at home and took them in a little cool bag, I also took a bag of salad to add to the rolls, a bag of apples and enough Quakers Oat So Simple porridge pots for the mornings (just add boiling water) - I then ate whatever I wanted for dinner as with all the walking and dancing I had shedloads of calories left each day.
I lost 1 lb that week!!
Enjoy and dont stress too much xx0 -
Awesome ideas guys - love the porridge idea...
Yes I am staying overnight (2 nights) - so will fruit and veg last?0 -
i would say:
- fruits
- some nuts
- maybe you can prepare some veggie sticks as snacks
- homemade oat cookies (oats, banana, egg white, no sugar)
- for breakfast: oats and soy milk
- whole grain bread
- peanut butter
- healthy snack bars
do you have a camping stove?
- you could make rice with pesto, veggies, ...
do you have a BBQ?
- you could grill veggies and tofu0 -
Don't think were gonna take anything to cook on but I bet I can get hot water from a vendor on site - usually they are quite nice0

If you invest in a decent cooler and pack in some ice, your perishable items will definitely be okay.... I have camped out for 4 days (80 degree temps and above) with food in a cooler and after 4 days there was still ice left.0 -
Just came back from a festival, we took oranges, apples, bananas, some fajita type wraps and tins of tuna (you can buy them with flavour too, lemon and black pepper mmmmmm) to assemble into tuna wraps there. Also the john west light lunch tuna things are good and dont need to be kept cool. And a few bags of low cal crisps like skips/walkers baked just incase we fancied chips to try keep us away from them. And then we just ate something warm from a van in the evening! And we both lost weight even with all the drinking :-)
Oh and we discovered banana and peanut butter wraps make AMAZING breakfasts! Gonna have them now im home too, yummy! ENJOY!!!!!0
