When would it be ok for ur gym to close for the day

After reading one of my MFPs comments about her gym closing for the day as the Olympic torch came to town it got me wondering.. When would it be OK, in your opinion for ur gym to close I.e (for me) I would be happy for my gym to close for the day if nuclear war was declared on my town.. Any other time would be unacceptable and inappropriate.. Anyone care to add??

    Ah see my gym is 24/7 so is always open but I ain't going on Christmas day!

    any day i don't plan on going is cool with me. otherwise, it needs to be open.
