Hey y'all! So I've been doing 1 hour of cardio (Zumba classes) for 6 days a week for an entire year, and I've lost 75 pounds. When I first started Zumba, it just about killed me..especially doing it almost every day. These days, Zumba is definitely still a great burn, and it's still semi-challenging, but I don't feel like I'm really pushing myself anymore, like I was in the beginning!

I need help. What sort of exercise can I add to push myself again?? I want mad results like I've been getting and I'm afraid I won't get them if I'm not really making myself work!

if you still like doing zumba, but want it more challenging....try adding small ankle/wrist weights! it'll make the workouts more tiring =)

May be time to switch up to something new. Your muscles know what to expect now so you have to "confuse" them by trying something new if you want to continue to see results. I used to find workouts I like and do them over and over but after a while your body gets used to it and you won't get results like you did at first...

and great to de-stress and work out aggression! Love kickboxing for my cardio between weight workouts!

Try different styles to mix up your routine, maybe different stlyes of dance (hip-hop or irish can be done solo, if you workout by yourself) or kickboxing or step areobics. I can't afford classes/gym memberships but local libraries have DVDs of all this. Some of it I find I'm having so much fun laughing at myself ( I have no rythme LOL ) , that time flies by and alot of calories burned. Hope you get challenged again. Good Luck!!!

I will have that change up for you tomorrow, emmy. I started a new job, after 2.5 years, and it's really weird not being able to devote as much time to this.

Keep an eye open for it tomorrow. I think you will like it.

Ankle weights are not meant for cardio. You can injure yourself.

Do you think I could do wrist weights safely?

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, good stuff!

Try something new! Replace half of your zumba workouts with strength training. Take a different class. Your body is probably very efficient at Zumba right now, and needs a new challenge. Strength training is very functional, so I'd start there.
