Just curious if anyone else is hypoglycemic on here -- and if you have anything you'd like to share about your weight loss journey!

I'm hypoglycemic and stuck to a 1200 net calorie per day goal for the last several months of my weight loss journey. As you've probably heard before, it helps to eat several small meals throughout the day and eat plenty of protein.

what are things you eat when you start feeling low? i've found 1/4 of an apple helps. I still don't understand what exactly happens within the body when it has too much/too little sugar, but I'm hoping to find a book that explains not just the symptoms but goes more indepth into the condition.

When I feel my blood sugar get really low, some orange juice and some protein help (a cheese stick, a little peanut butter, etc.)

After three weeks of trying to keep my carbs under a hundred I no longer have any problems with hypoglycemia. It is absolutely wonderful to be able to exercise on an empty stomach and it actually feels good to be hungry--I haven't felt physical hunger in years because if I went too long without eating I'd feel sick.

I was never diagnosed with hypoglycemia by a doctor (or been tested for diabetes) so I don't know if that maybe my blood sugar wasn't that bad which is why it cleared up so quickly?

I'm diabetic & one very common complication is hypoglycemia. I also have those moments which frankly I find scary.

In my case, I always keep a candy on hand. I posted this question under the diabetes support group & I saw some posts wherein they keep an orange or pineapple juice handy. Also fruits such as grapes, mango & banana are great too. But one very important thing is that we must eat every 2 hours so our sugar level won't crash.
