One of my favorite side dishes is quinoa. Even the kids enjoy it because it's interesting looking.

For healthy snacks, I keep cheese sticks/laughing cow wedges and plenty of yogurt and fruit in the house. Always a good choice.

Sorry. I've been working just about every night. I wasn't trying to ignore you!

Quinoa is a kind of grain and I love it in soups, as a side at dinner, on a salad or even plain. It's interesting looking and has a grainy taste. It's usually found in the grocery store near rice and couscous (which I also love!).

www.foodnetwork.com/topics/quinoa or try to google it. It's not expensive. A great thing I like to do is brown some turkey sausage in olive oil, with onions and garlic then place on top of the prepared quinoa and top with just a little speg. sauce! Delish! I prepare quinoa with the directions off the box - just like rice where you cook it on the stove in water. It absorbs all the water and then fluff with a fork.
