meals for HIM vs. meal for ME

How do I resolve the issues of when we eat together?
We used to have so much fun cooking and eating out/in together. Now I end up cooking all the time so I can cook healthy things, and he will often turn his nose up at salads, etc.....so I've started just doing two different meals, which I hate. Or I'll cut my steak in half give him an extra half and top my plate up with salad.
But then I'm doing all the food prep. It's not that he won't help. But if he cooks dinner I will end up with a bowl of creamy pasta at 7:30pm, or a hunk of red meat and carbs. Or some other form of pretty much fat wrapped up in carbs.
I don't want him to do the food shopping either - we just end up with a trolley full of crap which costs twice the price. So i send him to the cafe while I shop.
Maybe I'm being unfair/unrealistic......?
We used to love eating together it was so much fun (cue 27kg weight gain on my part in the first 6 months of our relationship)

wow i could've written that post. my boyfriend and i are the same and he even calls me a calorie nazi and will make fun of my diet/healthy eating. How i've resolved it is to make my food, if it doesn't satisfy him then he can make what he wants. i buy him sandwich meat and that is what he lives off of when i'm eating my salad. my boyfriend also cook very late in the day, often pulling out dinner near 10pm. i've had to say to him that it's too late for me to eat if i want to sleep at a normal time. it puts a lot of strain on the relationship but i have decided i refuse to budge when it comes to my health, because my health has also taken a toll on 'his' diet.0

I got my bf to diet too - and hes really got into it haha...talk to him about muscle gain so he'll get into healthy protein etc...men love it really!
Also I don't think you're being entirely unfair - but there are ways round it, if he does a tomato based pasta sauce he can give you yours and then he can put cheese on his. The steak you can do as you are doing and just think round meals like that...my bf even though he is dieting still gets to eat loads more than I do so we often have extra stuff to put on his plate!0
