I recently went to a dietician just to get some help with consuming the right type of calories (which it was helpful in this way). I had my metabolism tested and she stated that I had an above average metabolism and told me I should eat 2467 calories a day regardless of if I exercise or not. This was apparently determined by my workouts which I am an avid runner - running on average 12 miles a day, 5 days a week (50-60 miles a week). I found this just didn't work for me - 2467 was fine when on my rest days when I did not run but I found days I would run that even eating 2467 I would be starving at the end of the day!
I have since determined to go back to eating around 2200-2300 calories on rest days (which is what I was doing previously) and adding in my calories burned (usually between 800-1000) on days that I run. Although I am beginning to get used to looking more at my carb and protein intake for my running as my dietician suggested.
Anyone else had this type of experience?
