Hi, New with some Questions...

I'm sure all of these have been asked a million times but I don't really feel like sorting through thousands of threads...
I have a 2 1/2 month old and don't always have time to feed myself (LOL)... what are some quick and easy healthy lunch options? Also what are some good snacks for on the go (or just for when I'm dealing with a fussy baby all day and can only use one hand)?
I tend not to eat a lot of protein early in the day... I know I should, but that doesn't usually happen... usually I eat things like oatmeal or bagels for breakfast... I've been looking into maybe making protein shakes, but there are so many options out there I don't even know where to start! It has to taste good, it has to be easy to make/mix up, and it can't be super expensive... any suggestions?
I think that's it for now... TIA

Hey, I understand what your going through. lol I wanted to let you know, im not sure if its the best, but i really enjoy them. I buy the equate weight loss shakes from walmart they are only 4.87 for a box of 6, and they are supposed to be comparable to slim-fast but a lot less expensive. The flavor I get is the "original" creamy chocolate, it's better than the "ultra" I hope this helps a little, maybe you can try it and see if it can help substitute for your breakfast and/or your lunch. have a great day and keep up the good work!0

I prefer Muscle Milk brand shakes, which are a protein shake. They have one that is about 100 calories but has 16 grams of protein and no sugar. When you use those shakes you really need to compare ingredients and, for me, it about protein and low carbs.
Another trick someone told me was to mix my protein powder in with my oatmeal in the morning, which I have done, and is super filling and gets me protein in the morning.
My regular breakfast is an egg (or some egg whites) on toast. It's easy.
I make protein shakes and it's just a matter of buying a protein powder and throwing some stuff together. Trader Joes (if you have one) has a relatively inexpensive mix, but I noticed last time I was at GNC they had some smaller sample/travel packs of their powders. For me, I look for the most protein bang for my buck with the least calories when I look for a protein shake mix. Then, you just mix it with milk/almond milk/water and I throw in a cup of whatever fruit I have (usually berries of some sort). It's a low calorie, high protein meal I can carry around with me and sip on until it's done, which is handy with kids around.0 -
Thank you so much! You just reminded me, when you talked about Muscle Milk, that I used to get people to buy another brand (I used to work at a gas station, and we sold all kinds of those types of shakes). It's called Protein Rush, it has more protein and less fat, sugar, and carbs than Muscle Milk... plus it's cheaper! I'm not sure if it's available everywhere but I'm sure it's available online. It's made by the same company that make RedLine (which is very very bad!). In fact, I had customers who were UFC fighters and they're the ones who told me about it (but stupid pregnant/baby brain made me forget everything I used to know)
I'd still like to hear other ideas though0 -
When my chiropractor recommended whey protein to my parents, I decided to pick some up too. I really like GNC Pro Performance 100% Whey Protein. I bought a smaller bag at Rite Aid just to try it, and it's delicious. Not too thick, not too thin, and when I have a craving for some chocolate I'll have a scoop. Using a spoon, this kind all dissolves in under a minute of stirring. Here's the link to the large container:

Slap a slice of cheese or ham on your bagel. Or top it with cottage cheese, or nut butter, or humous, or smoked salmon.
Greek yoghurt is a good source of protein that takes little time to prepare and eat.
Boil eggs a few at a time, and have those ready to eat in the fridge.0
