How can you determine calories burned?

How can you determine calories burned on an exercise video that is half cardio/half weight training? I do Jillian Michael's video "Trouble Zones", and keyed in 45 min of cardio, but that probably isn't accurate given some of it is weight training.
How do I figure this out? TIA!

I get my calories burned from doing P90x through my heart rate monitor. The program gives a rough estimate at 600 per workout, but of course, its always different for everyone. I have been getting between 600-850, so my HRM helps to determine that.

Interesting...I will have to look into one. Thanks!

It even helps with running and yard work. I try to do my yard work after my workout because my HR is still going at a good rate haha!

strength / cardio combining exercises such as P90X insanity, 30 day shred etc can be tracked as "circuit training" which is in the database.

I bought a Body Media thingy, Wore it all the time for the three month trial period. I learned what my TDEE is on various days, got a good indication of where I'm at for calories. Part of the tracker shows expenditure over 24 hours, so I saw how much I burned walking to/from my car for work, what I did from exercise videos, lifting, extra extra.

I liked the sleep log too, Got an idea of how much I wake up in the middle of the night. No wonder I'm so groggy.

I just got a heart rate monitor and am amazed at how "off" the calculators are - on MFP and various online sources. I am breastfeeding so I watch my calories burned closely for supply issues. I am so glad I got one. I feel empowered! Sounds silly, but knowledge is power and I KNOW what I'm burning now!
