Whenever I get discouraged

I always think to myself, "Well, how GOOD would it feel to be able to go into a store and rummage for a size small?" or "Imagine being able to actually complete more than 10 push ups or 1 mile during weekly exercises."
Now that I think about it, i'm really excited for all of that. But I have a long, long way to go. Hopefully I can lose at least 40 pounds before my birthday in November though. That'd be pretty bombastic.
What do you tell yourself to keep on track/motivated?
