So forgive me if this has already been beat to exhaustion, but I wanted everyone's advice on the various Nike GPS watches for running. Anyone really like theirs?
Thanks so much!

Why only Nike? Garmin is the industry leader in this segment. Have you considered what they offer?0

I have the nike+ GPS tomtom watch and it is fantastic if you are a runner. it's not engineered for other activities, only running. it works with the nike+ shoe sensor that fits inside nike+ running shoes or in a shoe pod for non-nike+ shoes.
It is simply fantastic for just running..the run data you download is beautifully laid out , there's more run data than you could know what to do with, and the mapping is just gorgeous. I have a garmin forerunner GPS watch and love that too, but the map you get consists of a yellow line..thats IT..the nike mapping is simply amazing and overlaid on google maps, and it's deadly accurate in judging distances.
There are people who claim it dosn't get a GPS signal, but mine locks within seconds, works seamlessly and is also compatible with a polar HRM strap. This watch, more so than the garmin forerunner has changed the way I run and I do recommend it..but you do need to invest in the shoe sensor/and or compatible shoes.
Just analysing the run data and my pace at any specific point during the run has really helped me run more efficiently.0 -

nope..you can't do a THING witht he polar HRM when using the nike sportwatch. it dosn't even give the calories burnt using the HRM strap. it's soul function is to display your heart rate at any point during the run ( whilst running and in post run data) and wil l also show your heart rate at any part during the run. There is NO known ability to set any limits or alerts.0 -

time to upgrade your firmware. everyone i know who uses the sportwatch get a gPS lock within seconds, and we live in a very leafy area surrounded by trees.0 -

Garmin's watches are great, they offer more than just running, they are also great for cycling, walking etc. but their maps are beyond embarrassing. a 30 mile bike ride and a yellow line with a squiggle is what they offer you for a GPS service.0 -
Thanks..I currently have the ipod nano with polar strap... and record my runs with heart rate..will the nike+ gps heart continue to map my runs the same it does today? I can set limits and the website will show me how long I ran in/out of the zones I set.. just no alert while running to speed up or slow down..0

Yes, it will continue to map as it does. You will zee the zones you work at but your watch won't alert you if you drop/exceed a preferred rate0 -
Thanks! Hopefully with firmware updates they'll set alerts for zones0

I just bought the Nike GPS and LOVE it. My husband has a Garmin and the Nike and wears both (geek). But I love mine. I can see how fast I'm walking so I know to pick it up. I'm training for another 1/2 marathon in December and already can tell this will keep me on track. Plus my Nike shoe pod was always off by a mile.0
