BAKERS--will my apple cake be soggy??
i just baked an apple cake which uses a marg/flour/sugar crumbly crust and same for the topping. the apple slices are in the middle.
will it be soggy by tomorrow night b/c it's not a true "cake"? is there a way tomorrow night to re-heat it?
i baked it today b/c i have too much to cook tomorrow--but did i just waste my effort?
please give me your opinion/advice. thank you!

did you coat the apples in flour before adding them in? this will keep them suspended in the cake and prevent them from becoming mushy. My suggestion would be to throw it in the oven tomorrow on low heat in order to warm it up because its a dry heat. If you put it in the mircowave its going fill with condensation and get squishy.0

thank you! the apples were coated with egg, constarch (and sugar??). so thanks for explaining that part of the science.
i let it cool and then covered and put in the fridge. and i will heat up in the oven (not the micro) tomorrow before serving.
thanks so much for taking the time to respond!! :flowerforyou:0
