Wow, I have always been going on my BMI index whilst dieting, and in the past month or 2 I finally got within that 'Healthy Weight range- but still the top end.

What a boost I got when I tried the 'Ideal Weight Calculator' link that was refered to in one of the other posts:
www.calculator.net/ideal-weight-calculator.html

Give it a try, and let me know if you are as pleasantly surprised as me!

I am a 32 year old female. I am 1 meter 66 tall, and I always expecetd my ideal weight to be between 55 and 68 kilos (121 and 150 pounds).
I am now 66.7 Kilos. (147 pounds)

Based on the Robinson formula (1983), my ideal weight is 67.5 kgs
Based on the Miller formula (1983), my ideal weight is 67.9 kgs
Based on the Devine formula (1974), my ideal weight is 70.5 kgs
Based on the Hamwi formula (1964), my ideal weight is 69.4 kgs
Based on the healthy BMI recommendation, my recommended weight is 59.9 kgs - 81.0 kgs

I am under the ideal weight for all of the formulas!

By the way; the BMI calculation provided seems to present the recommanded weight to be to the top end of 'overweight' rather then the top end of 'ideal weight'. I wouldn't agree with that myself.

I'd love to hear your views.

  • Ik snap niet precies wat je allemaal schrijft maar ik zie wel dat je gewicht onder veel berekeningen vanhet BMI zit. En daar gaat het toch om! Prima gedaan!!!
