What do you do when temptation strikes?

So what are your strategies or tools that you use when temptation strikes. How do you resist when a well meaning individual offers you food out of the blue that is not planned or expected? How do you listen to the rational side and silince the impulsive "I want it now, it taste good" side?

  • It depends on the situation and if I truly want to have some of what is being offered. I usually take a small bite of something if I truly want it because well thats life. I don't want to spend my entire life saying no to everything. I don't go crazy or all out but I don't mind taking a small piece of whatever it is. Of course, if what is being offered is not something I like, then I don't but I want to keep my mind and body healthy. Being mentally content and happy is just as important I believe.

    I accept food that is offered to me and eat it if I want it. Life is too short to give up free cupcakes.

    I try to say no thank you. I really love chocolate! And I work with a bunch of FOOD PUSHERS. so I pack my own treats and keep them with me. Mine are low cal and I can have my treat and not feel guilty aftwerwards.

    I grab a water and drink it and try to get my mind off of it..I keep a pack of M&M's at home so while the kids and hubby eat sweet treats after dinner if I'm in the mood for something sweet I will grab 5(50 calories) and munch on them.. If it's something just food wise if I eat it I just log it and only eat a bite or two. So that I can adjust the rest of my day around that "unplanned calorie intake"

    I usually give in and eat it.:smile: It's the caveman in me. Me, wantum, cookie!!!!
