Rowing Machines

Okay, so I'm looking into buying one of these machines, but have no idea what brand to buy, and what's good and what's not! I don't want to spend a ridiculous amount (I'm just a poor student! haha) but all the ones I've looked at so far are $1000 and over...that's well out of the ball park for me.
So any help and advice anyone has for me would be great!
Thanks!

Look for a used one.
I bought a Concept2, they're not cheap but I figure if they're good enough for the national team and university teams for off season rowing they're definitely good enough for me. (and they weren't out of line with other decent quality machines)0
